The Cau Treo International Border Gate Economic Zone in Ha Tinh province will be a duty free zone for multi-sector and multi-field development, including industry, trade, service, tourism, agriculture and forestry.

This is according to the Prime Minister’s Decision 961/QD-TTg to approve a master plan for the economic zone development until 2025, recently published by the Management Board of the Cau Treo International Border Gate Economic Zone.

The economic zone will also be the gateway to country’s international trade along the East-West Economic Corridor.

Centralised functional areas will be developed in the zone, conforming to the natural terrain and geology in the northern part of Highway 8A. Construction in the economic zone will be located along mountains and hills slopes with terminals at squares and open spaces along the river.

Covering an area of 12,500 hectares in Huong Son district, the economic zone will include rural residential and urban, industrial areas, farms, eco-tourism areas, parks, and sports centres.

The local authorities have been asked to successfully carry out the site-clearance, build infrastructure, and boost investment and trade promotion to attract investment to the economic zone.
